About the RoleWe are seeking a dynamic and experienced Transport Manager to join our team at Ealing Council. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our fleet, as well as maintaining compliance with regulatory standards and company policies.
Key Responsibilities- Utilise telematics data to analyse and report on driver behaviour, and actively promote safe driving practices.
- Engage in pre and post-shift driver/vehicle gate checks to ensure compliance with safety protocols.
- Work closely with our HSEQ and Training Academy teams to onboard new drivers and manage licence checks and DQCPC for existing drivers.
- Ensure that company policies, regulatory standards, and statutory requirements are up-to-date and fully compliant.
- Take a proactive approach to analysing transport systems, fuel management, and other key areas to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Create a positive team environment that supports the delivery of high-quality service standards internally and externally.
- Model good leadership and support supervisors and managers in transport-related matters.
- Engage with stakeholders to understand local authority frameworks for procuring future vehicles and ground maintenance machinery.
- Extensive experience in a transport management role, preferably at supervisory or management level.
- A full driver's licence is required.
