Job Title: Level 2 Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Level 2 Teaching Assistant to support EAL students in their language acquisition journey.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist EAL students in developing their English language skills through tailored support in both classroom settings and small group interventions.
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers to adapt lesson plans and resources to meet the needs of EAL learners, ensuring they can fully engage with the curriculum.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents regarding student development.
  • Foster an inclusive environment by promoting cultural awareness and understanding among all students, encouraging peer relationships.
  • Assist in creating engaging materials and resources that cater specifically to the needs of EAL learners.
  • Support communication between school staff and non-English speaking parents, facilitating their involvement in their child's education.
Person Specification:
  • Qualifications: Level 2 or relevant qualifications in teaching assistance or education are desirable.
  • Experience: Previous experience working with children or young people, particularly those who speak English as an additional language, is highly advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to convey complex information clearly.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting diverse learners.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being able to take initiative when necessary.
  • Proficiency in additional languages would be beneficial but not essential.
