Job Title: Head Waiter

Job Summary:

Fundamental Hospitality is seeking a skilled and experienced Head Waiter to join our team. As a key member of our service team, you will be responsible for ensuring that every guest has an exceptional dining experience.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the overall guest experience and wellbeing, working closely with the Chef de Rang to ensure seamless service.
  • Take orders and call away tables to maintain a smooth tempo in the section.
  • Allocate duties to the Chef de Rang, ensuring that all stations are prepared for service.
  • Conduct pre-service briefings to ensure that all team members are aware of their responsibilities.
  • Assist the hostess/host with seating guests and take drink orders when the waiter is busy.
  • Explain menus and specials to guests, taking food orders and checking for allergies or intolerance.
  • Place orders on the point-of-sale system and ensure that all bills are closed and handed over to the closing manager.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a Head Waiter or in a similar role.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and maintain a calm demeanor in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of wine and spirits is an asset.
