Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with our team of experienced engineers on a wide range of marine and coastal projects across the UK. As a senior engineer, you will have the chance to lead design teams and provide technical guidance to junior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Designing complex marine structures, including quay walls, jetties, dolphins, slipways, berthing and mooring facilities
  • Providing technical leadership and support to junior engineers
  • Collaborating with internal design teams and communicating with external clients
  • Preparing detailed technical reports and presentations

Requirements:

  • Chartered or near-chartered status with a strong desire to learn and develop towards professional qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience in the design of marine structures, preferably using software such as STAAD Pro or LUSAS
  • Excellent knowledge of buildability and buildable design principles
  • Detailed understanding of maritime standards and guidelines, including BS6349 and PIANC

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in designing lock gates, heavy duty pavements, breakwaters and linkspans
  • Coastal engineering design and assessment skills
  • Familiarity with marine geotechnics and temporary works design
  • Proficiency in using engineering software, such as Optimoor, Wallap and Plaxis

Salary: £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience
