About the Role

Penderels Trust is seeking a highly motivated and caring Personal Assistant to support an individual with a disability. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing assistance with daily living tasks, household chores, and social activities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with household chores and general homemaking, including cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation.
  • Support and/or prompt the individual to access sporting and leisure activities, such as going to the cinema, shopping, or visiting garden centers.
  • Assist and encourage socialization, participating in activities that promote independence and friendships.
  • Promote and encourage the individual's physical and emotional well-being, including supporting with mobility and daily living tasks.
  • Develop a good and trusting one-to-one working relationship with the individual, based on mutual respect and understanding.
Requirements
  • Be honest, reliable, trustworthy, and punctual.
  • Maintain confidentiality and respect the individual's privacy, including the prohibited use of social media in relation to the job role.
  • Be able to work on own initiative and be self-motivated.
  • Have good listening skills and be able to provide non-judgmental emotional support.
  • Be empathetic and have a genuine interest in supporting people with a disability or illness to achieve their goals.
  • Flexibility would be an advantage, as the hours may be variable.
Working Arrangements

The successful candidate will be required to work on a flexible basis, with variable hours to be agreed with the individual. The role will involve supporting the individual with daily living tasks, household chores, and social activities, as well as promoting their physical and emotional well-being.

Training and Support

Penderels Trust is committed to providing ongoing training and support to our staff, to ensure they have the skills and knowledge required to provide high-quality support to our service users. The successful candidate will be required to complete a comprehensive induction program, as well as ongoing training and development opportunities.
