Job Summary

This role is responsible for the leadership, coordination, and operational management of Urgent and Emergency Care services and seven further specialties across the Division.

The successful candidate will provide overall strategic direction and leadership to ensure the care we provide remains of outstanding quality.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Oversee delivery against key constitutional quality and safety standards, including the four hour operating standard for emergency care and referral to treatment time for all specialties.
  2. Accountable for the performance of the specialties within their remit against those standards.
  3. Responsible for patient flow through the acute hospital, ensuring that the principles of safe, timely care are followed.
  4. Oversight of budgets across all specialties within its remit, and for workforce planning.
  5. Lead and manage key areas including complaints, governance, risk, and quality improvement projects across the Division.
Requirements
  1. Previous experience working as Band 8D Associate Director of Operations for Access and Medicine within the NHS.
  2. Previous experience working as Associate Director of Operations for Access and Medicine within the Healthcare Sector.
  3. Experience being responsible for the Urgent and Emergency Care services of an NHS Trust.
  4. Experience providing overall strategic direction and leadership to ensure the care we provide remains of outstanding quality.
  5. Meet the criteria above and available to start immediately.
