We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to fill the role of Director of Corporate Governance at our esteemed Mental Health Trust. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of corporate governance across all aspects of our organization.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership and guidance on corporate governance matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Develop and implement effective governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to support the Trust's objectives.
  • Collaborate with the Board and senior leaders to ensure that governance structures and processes are in place to support excellence in governance.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on corporate governance issues, including risk management, compliance, and audit.
  • Lead on the design, development, and implementation of the Board Assurance Framework, ensuring it is regularly reviewed and updated.
  • Ensure full secretarial support, advice, and follow-up action is provided for the Board and its designated formal committees.

Person Specification

  • Master's Degree and/or relevant Professional Qualification or demonstrable experience of working at this level.
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development.
  • Demonstrable experience in a senior manager role within the NHS or similar complex public sector organization, with evidence of extensive engagement at Executive and Non-Executive Board level.
  • Experience of legal/governance issues, relevant statutes, and regulatory law frameworks.
  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of relevant integrated, corporate, and healthcare governance.
