Job Description

Randstad Student Support is seeking an experienced Autism Specialist to provide one-to-one study skills support to autistic students in higher education. The ideal candidate will have a passion for supporting students and a strong understanding of autism spectrum disorder.

The role involves working with students to develop independence, build on strengths and learning strategies, and create strategies around organisation and time management. The Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker will also support students to develop research skills, distinguish appropriate sources, and build on comprehension skills within reading and writing.

The successful candidate will be able to travel to local universities and colleges and offer both in-person and online sessions flexibly to meet student preferences. A hybrid role, the Specialist-one-to-one Study Skills Support Worker will provide learning support and academic guidance, creating an individual learning plan tailored to each student's needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop independence in students
  • Build on strengths and learning strategies

  • Create action plans to stay on track with studies
  • Support students to develop research skills
  • Distinguish appropriate sources and how to correctly use references
