Edinburgh, Edinburgh, United Kingdom NHS Scotland Full time
Job Summary

NHS Scotland is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse work environment, promoting equality and eliminating unlawful discrimination. Our goal is to have a workforce that truly represents the community we serve, where each employee feels valued and empowered to contribute their best.

We are reducing our full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week, effective from 1 April 2024, without any change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro-rata for part-time staff. This change reflects our commitment to work-life balance and employee well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work across sites at the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and the Western General Hospital, managing trauma, elective, surgical, and non-surgical upper limb patients.
  • Contribute to the clinical leadership and development of the Physiotherapy Out-patient upper limb rehabilitation service, in conjunction with Team Lead Physiotherapists.
  • Provide training to the Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) and participate in pan-Lothian Quality Improvement (QI) projects to enhance orthopaedic pathways.
  • Develop expertise in hand therapy and orthopaedic out-patient rehabilitation, with opportunities for professional growth and development.
Requirements

We are seeking a highly motivated individual with extensive experience and relevant postgraduate education in hand and upper limb rehabilitation, including splinting and wound management. The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

This is an exciting opportunity for a Physiotherapist or Occupational Therapist to join our team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.
