We are seeking an experienced Diagnostic Radiographer to join our team in the Breast Unit at The Newcastle upon Tyne Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our radiology department, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients.
About the RoleThis is a full-time position that requires strong communication and interpersonal skills. You will work closely with our Superintendent Radiographer to provide a comprehensive screening, assessment, and symptomatic service. The ideal candidate will have a working knowledge of radiation protection and IT skills necessary for Radiology Information Systems (RIS) and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS).
Key Responsibilities- Deliver high-quality diagnostic imaging services to patients in the Breast Screening and Assessment Centre based at the RVI and in the community on 3 breast screening trailers.
- Collaborate with the Superintendent Radiographer to provide a comprehensive screening, assessment, and symptomatic service.
- Work effectively in a team environment to deliver a high-quality radiographic service.
- HCPC registered.
- BSc (Hons) Diagnostic Radiography or equivalent.
- Post Graduate qualification in a clinical speciality (e.g. mammography), or post graduate specialist short courses or relevant specialist experience.
The salary for this role is £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a range of benefits including flexible working arrangements, access to training and development opportunities, and a contributory pension scheme.
What We OfferThe Newcastle Breast Screening Service delivers a screening service to a large rural area. A current driving licence and access to a car are essential. We are a flexible working-friendly organisation and want to accommodate a flexible working arrangement that suits both us and our patients.
