Job Title: Refuge Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Refuge Support Worker to join our team at Vetro Recruitment. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing support and guidance to women and children who have experienced domestic abuse.

About the Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a dynamic and passionate team, making a real difference in the lives of those affected by domestic abuse. As a Refuge Support Worker, you will be responsible for providing a safe and supportive environment for our service users, helping them to rebuild their lives and regain control.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support and guidance to women and children, helping them to identify and address their needs and risks.
  • Work collaboratively with external agencies to ensure a comprehensive and coordinated response to domestic abuse.
  • Develop and implement safety plans and support plans to help service users achieve their goals and improve their well-being.
  • Provide emotional support and advocacy to service users, helping them to navigate the complexities of the domestic abuse system.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures to ensure the safety and well-being of service users.
Requirements:
  • Hold a SafeLives IDVA training certificate or a relevant degree or demonstrable equivalent experience.
  • Have a strong understanding of domestic violence and abuse, including its impact on victims and their children.
  • Be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple cases.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with service users, colleagues, and external agencies.
  • Be able to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
