Join Our Team as a Specialty Doctor in Anaesthetics

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Specialty Doctor in Anaesthetics to support our Anaesthesia provision across Theatres and Critical Care at Glangwili and Prince Philip General Hospitals in Carmarthenshire.

About the Role

This is a fixed-term position for 12 months, initially. As a Specialty Doctor in Anaesthetics, you will work across both Theatre and Critical Care locations, including an on-call commitment. You will be part of a vibrant NHS district general hospital with a friendly, welcoming, and diverse community of local and international staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support Anaesthesia provision across Theatres and Critical Care
  • Work across both Theatre and Critical Care locations, including an on-call commitment
  • Contribute to the shaping and development of Anaesthetic and Critical Care services across the Health Board
Requirements
  • 4 years full-time postgraduate training (or part-time equivalent) in Anaesthesia and/or Critical Care
  • Recent experience of Critical Care
  • Fixed-term Specialty Trainee in Anaesthesia or equivalent experience/competencies
  • MBBS and further postgraduate qualification
  • Broad-based experience in Anaesthetics
  • Knowledge of UK hospital systems and competence in Anaesthetics
  • Knowledge and experience of communicating bad news
  • Meet the requirements of the GMC's Good Medical Practice
