Salary: £30,000 per annum
About the RoleThe successful candidate will lead a small team of QC Technicians, overseeing the testing of ingredients and finished products while optimising the use of materials and equipment. They will ensure all raw materials and finished products meet specifications and are released on time, while maintaining efficient, accurate, and safe operations.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise QC Technicians, provide cover for the Quality Systems Manager and QC Technicians, and attend daily update meetings to address concerns and feedback.
- Oversee testing procedures, including taste panels, re-sampling, and managing reject stock, while ensuring compliance with customer requirements.
- Collaborate with departments on quality testing, manage external lab testing, micro concessions, and ensure timely release in the product launch process.
- Support audits, manage lab consumables, handle factory quality functions (e.g., pest control, calibration), and assist with complaint investigations and OOD stock testing.
- Food Science Graduate or equivalent with knowledge of the QC function.
- Basic knowledge of food safety and hygiene management.
