About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Climate Hazard Modeler to join our team at Moody's Investors Service. As a key member of our Model Development department, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining mathematical models that predict the financial impact of natural catastrophes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement sophisticated mathematical models for climate hazard risk assessment
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate models with data analytics and business intelligence
  • Design and implement high-performance computing solutions for large-scale model simulations
  • Communicate complex analysis results to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Requirements
  • PhD in a relevant field (e.g., mathematics, statistics, physics, or engineering)
  • Strong background in numerical modeling, statistics, and computational science
  • Experience with climate analyses and data, particularly with tropical storm processes
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as R, Python, or Julia
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills
