About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Parker Smith Inclusion. As a SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to access the curriculum, develop social skills, and build confidence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs, promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Collaborate with teachers and therapists to implement individualized education plans (IEPs), ensuring students receive tailored support.
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional development, fostering a growth mindset in students.
  • Monitor and report progress to the SENCO, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues, promoting a sense of community and belonging.
Requirements
  • A genuine passion for working with children with SEMH needs, demonstrating empathy and understanding.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude, creating a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or a relevant qualification, although not essential.
