SEMH Learning Support Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEMH Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Parker Smith Inclusion. As a SEMH Learning Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs to access the curriculum, develop social skills, and build confidence.

About the Role

As a SEMH Learning Support Assistant, your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing one-on-one and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
  • Collaborating with teachers and therapists to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Creating a safe and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Encouraging positive behaviour and emotional development.
  • Monitoring and reporting progress to the SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator).
  • Building strong relationships with students, parents, and colleagues.
Requirements

To excel in this role, you should have:

  • A genuine passion for working with children with SEMH needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a nurturing attitude.
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Previous experience in a similar role or a relevant qualification is advantageous but not essential.
