Electrical Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Engineer to join our team at a major steel manufacturing site in Stocksbridge. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all plant and people operate within and comply with Liberty Speciality Steels (LSS) policy and statutory Health, Safety and Environmental legislation.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure that statutory and LSS requirements are met for all assets within the department.
  2. Determine, monitor and control the engineering resources and materials needed to satisfy the operational requirements of your area.
  3. Devise and develop planned maintenance and inspection schedules.
  4. Provide technical and engineering expertise to production and quality managers in your area.
  5. Identify and assist in the preparation of development opportunities in your area, resulting in the continuous enhancement of engineering and production performance.
  6. Assist in the training and continuous development of a multi-discipline engineering team.

Requirements:

  1. Educated to HNC or higher in Electrical Engineering.
  2. Plant engineering experience with three phase systems, AC and DC equipment and ideally PLC experience of GEM, Allen-Bradley and Siemens systems.
  3. Experience and knowledge of Remelt facilities including VAR, VIM, ESR and Heat Treatment Furnaces.
  4. An understanding of risk management.
  5. Strong root cause analysis and problem solving skills with a collaborative approach to finding practical solutions.
