Job Title: Electrical Commissioning Engineer (Water Industry)

Location: South Yorkshire, UK

Contract Type: Contract

Rate: £450 per day (depending on experience)

Job Overview:

Fyba Talent is seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to lead commissioning activities on clean and wastewater treatment projects. The successful candidate will work closely with project teams to ensure efficient commissioning processes and full regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Electrical Commissioning: Lead and execute commissioning for electrical systems supporting clean and wastewater treatment, covering equipment start-up, functional testing, and performance validation.
  2. System Optimization: Identify and implement optimization opportunities for electrical systems to enhance performance, safety, and reliability.
  3. Documentation: Prepare comprehensive commissioning documents, including method statements, risk assessments, and final commissioning reports, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  4. Collaborative Integration: Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams to achieve project milestones on time and within budget.
  5. Testing & Validation: Conduct functional tests and system checks to verify electrical system performance, troubleshoot issues, and ensure alignment with design specifications.
  6. Compliance: Ensure commissioning activities meet all health, safety, and environmental regulations.
  7. Training & Handover: Provide operational training on electrical systems to site personnel, facilitating a smooth handover to operational teams.
  8. Continuous Improvement: Identify and communicate opportunities for improvement in design and commissioning processes, contributing to best practices across future projects.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years in electrical commissioning within the water treatment sector, with a focus on both clean and wastewater treatment facilities.
  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent qualifications.
  • In-depth knowledge of electrical systems in water treatment, including SCADA/DCS control systems and electrical distribution.
  • Familiarity with equipment such as pumps, control panels, and variable frequency drives.
  • Understanding of UK water industry standards and health & safety regulations.

Contract Details:

  • Rate: Up to £450 per day, commensurate with experience and qualifications.
  • Location: Based on various treatment sites in South Yorkshire.
  • Duration: Long-term contract, with potential extensions based on project needs.
