We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Site Engineer to join our Highways team at Galliford Try. As a key member of our infrastructure project team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful delivery of our road construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Participate in creating a safe working environment and assist the Site Agent in planning and coordinating the project and resources.
- Coordinate subcontractors to ensure they achieve programme outputs and write, review, and implement Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
- Ensure works are carried out as per Inspection Test Plans (ITP's) and manage the site engineering team, delegate tasks, train, and mentor junior engineers.
- Control and update programmes, attend coordination meetings, and daily/week/monthly lookaheads as required.
- Ensure works are in accordance with the Specification Highways Works (SHW), Project Works Information, and drawings.
- Raise design-related Request for Information (RFI's) and Technical Queries (TQ's) and ensure accurate and timely records are kept.
- Constant communication and liaison with the commercial team providing detailed information to allow for accurate financial reporting.
- Manage snagging systems, control and minimize waste on site, and identify/assist in introducing new processes, techniques, and innovations on site.
- Ability to work safely and read and interpret data and drawings.
- Advanced setting out techniques and ability to use Level and EDM with knowledge of GPS preferred.
- Relevant Civil Engineering experience (Highways, Rail, water, or aviation) and proven leadership and delegation skills.
- Flexible attitude to work, problem-solving skills, NVQ Level or higher, SMSTS, and relevant CSCS card.
- Office expertise/CAD.
