Role: Experienced SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Bournemouth

We are seeking a highly skilled SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at GSL Education. In this role, you will work closely with pupils who require additional support to access the curriculum and achieve their full potential. Your primary responsibility will be to provide one-to-one and small group support to these pupils, using a range of strategies to help them overcome their learning and behavioural challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support pupils with SEN to access the curriculum and meet their individual needs
  • Work closely with the class teacher to develop and implement tailored learning plans
  • Use a range of behaviour management strategies to promote positive pupil behaviour
  • Communicate effectively with pupils, parents and colleagues to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment

Requirements:

  • Experience working with pupils with SEN or complex additional learning and behavioural needs
  • Knowledge of effective behaviour management strategies and ability to adapt to diverse pupil needs
  • Ability to support the class teacher to engage learners and meet individual needs
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
