Dietitian Specialist Diabetes and Weight Management

Main ResponsibilitiesYou will be joining a team of like-minded professionals to provide personalized care, making a huge difference to the patients we see. The therapies team is at the forefront of innovation and development for both our services and our people.
As a specialist dietitian for diabetes and weight management, you will primarily be working in an out-patient role with occasional in-patient diabetes cover for the wards, working as a key clinician within both the diabetes and weight management multidisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities include:
- Working closely with our tier 3 weight management service senior clinician and providing cross cover where needed.
- Delivering and developing clinics and patient education groups.
- Managing specialist outpatient clinics for adults referred.
- Developing professional, specialized programs of care, including dietetic assessment, education, and intervention, to patients and their carers.
- Involvement with the National Diabetes Audits.
- Potential for dietetic-led gestational diabetes management (candidate dependent).
- Developing your teaching skills by supporting and training student dietitians.

Working HoursThis role is part-time (30 hours per week). We have a flexible working policy that we are happy to discuss to establish suitable options for you and the department.
Person SpecificationWe are looking for a HCPC registered dietitian; experience in diabetes and weight management would be advantageous but not essential. This role would also be suitable for an experienced Band 5 looking to progress or an existing Band 6 wanting to specialize.
