Are you passionate about emerging automotive technologies and eager to contribute to shaping the future of our auto services business?

As an Automotive Testing Engineer, you will play a crucial role in helping us understand and harness the potential of cutting-edge technologies, collaborating with our team to drive innovation and growth.

Reporting to our Motor Technology Specialist, you will be part of a dynamic team at the Direct Line Group Technology Centre in Stechford (Birmingham), working on hands-on projects and contributing to the development of our motor technology strategies.

We are seeking an experienced professional with a background in automotive testing and a passion for innovation, who can bring their expertise and creativity to our team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Test and evaluate emerging vehicle technologies to support our ambition to be an industry leader.
  • Engage with partners and stakeholders to promote learning and drive strategic decisions.
  • Collaborate with the Motor Network Technology Specialist and team to develop future repair strategies.
  • Perform hands-on experiments to test new technologies and demonstrate their impact.
  • Deliver insight events to further understanding of advanced technology within DLG.
  • Support the adoption of enabling technology within DLG, including digital solutions.
  • Contribute to the development of training courses and site-specific technology investments.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to challenge established thinking and test new ideas.
  • Background in communicating technical knowledge and experience in automotive/vehicle technologies.
  • Comfortable working independently and setting goals to achieve.
  • Engineering qualification and industry experience desirable.
