About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team at South West London and St George's Mental Health NHS Trust. As a specialist in speech and language therapy for deaf adults, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our patients.

Job Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing tertiary-level speech and language services to deaf adults with mental health diagnoses
  • Assessing and diagnosing clients' speech, language, and communication needs in relation to their deafness and mental health
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans to address clients' communication needs
  • Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to clients
  • Providing training and education to clients, families, and healthcare professionals on communication strategies and techniques
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A graduate diploma or degree in Speech and Language Therapy or equivalent
  • Registration with the Health Professions Council
  • Membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists
  • Minimum 4 years postgraduate experience in speech and language therapy, including specialist-level experience working with deafness and mental health
  • Experience of working with clients with challenging behavior and mental health needs
