About the Role

The Maintenance Team Leader will be responsible for coordinating and leading the maintenance team to ensure the smooth operation of the facility. This includes ensuring equipment availability, managing team holidays, and addressing plant faults and defects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment availability meets departmental targets
  • Manage team holidays and ensure compliance with company policy
  • Address plant faults and defects to maintain facility operations
  • Conduct root cause analysis of repeat and major breakdowns
  • Engineer out previous issues through continuous improvement
  • Facilitate PM schedules and make recommendations for improvement
  • Support internal customers with technical issues
  • Comply with corporate practices, procedures, and policies related to Occupational Safety and Health administration rules (OSHA)
  • Attend training and adhere to CCUK and Magna standards
  • Apply 5S methodology in work areas and the wider factory
  • Drive departmental and company goals and objectives
  • Promote a positive example and reflect Magna's Employees Charter, Corporate Constitution, and Division's Mission, Vision, Objectives, Goals, and Values

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a maintenance function
  • Time served apprentice in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
  • Willingness to multi-skill
  • Ability to delegate to skilled workers
  • Report writing skills
  • Experience in fault finding from hydraulic and pneumatic schematics
  • Good Microsoft package skills, especially Word and Excel
  • Ability to communicate technical issues and conduct start of shift briefs
  • 5S experience

Desirable Qualifications

  • Qualification in both Electrical and Mechanical disciplines
  • Educated to HNC/HND in a related discipline
  • Experience within the Castings sector
  • Health and Safety accreditation
  • Experience of Tier 1 Automotive supply
  • Previous experience leading a technical team
