Credit Risk Specialist

The purpose of this role is to provide independent and objective credit risk underwriting, oversight, and portfolio management. It assists Kion in accomplishing its objectives by bringing a credit risk-based, systematic, and disciplined approach to evaluate the operational and credit risk of customers.
Key Responsibilities:- Exercise a personal sanctioning authority with diligence and care, ensuring file records/risk reports include an explanation of the degree of risk involved in extending credit with clear, concise, and rational recommendations for the credit decision.
- Prepare papers for those transactions requiring higher authority decisioning.
- Collaborate with Sales, Collections, and Operations to support profitable growth.
- Follow AML and KYC policies, controls, and procedures and all other Compliance requirements.
- Responsible for reporting on high-risk accounts and supports the collections team in respect of asset management, collections, and recovery activity.
- Support AML reporting officer in all regulatory reporting requirements.
- Provide back-up and support as required to the other teams across the wider business.
- Act as a subject matter expert providing advice to colleagues.
- Previously held lending mandate in asset finance or commercial banking environment.
- Previous leasing experience (preferably materials handling or similar asset class).
- Technically knowledgeable in the field of Credit.
- Operationally strong and very aware of risk, process, and procedure.
- Ability to form strong relationships to promote cross-functional activity between sales, relationship teams, and back-office processing.
- The role requires an independent thinker who is influential within the company at all levels.
- Possess a detailed understanding of the legal, financial, and operational aspects of Asset Finance and Structured Products.
- Influencing at Senior level, attention to detail, accounts interpretation, credit analysis, ability to build relationships at all levels, coaching/mentoring.
