SEN Teaching Assistant Opportunity in Tameside

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a lovely Primary School in Ashton, Tameside. This is a full-time, long-term role for the full academic year, with the possibility of going permanent upon review.

About the School

The Primary School is a vibrant and inclusive learning environment that caters to children aged 2-11 years old. The school has a strong focus on providing outstanding education and learning opportunities that meet the needs of all pupils, including those with Autism, Multiple Learning Difficulties (MLD), Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD), and Complex Medical Needs.

The school boasts a range of facilities, including sensory rooms, soft play rooms, a large hall, studio for physical activities, outdoor play areas, sensory garden, and a small hydrotherapy pool. The school is easily accessible by public transport, with the closest tram being a 5-minute walk. On-site parking is also available.

About the Role

You will be supporting a KS1 class in Year 2, working alongside the Class Teacher and experienced Teaching Assistants. Your role will involve providing individualized support to students with Autism and Moderate Learning Difficulties, aiding their development academically and socially. You will be required to plan sessions and lead your own activities within the class.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have previous experience working within SEN and possess the following qualifications:

  • Enhanced DBS Disclosure
  • Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable)
  • Professional reference checks
  • Legal right to work in the UK
