About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Clinical Support Worker to join our Diagnostic Imaging team at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Support Worker, you will play a vital role in assisting our radiographic staff with daily workload and planning, ensuring the smooth delivery of our diagnostic imaging and medical photography services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist radiographic staff with daily workload and planning, including contacting wards to arrange transport and preparation for inpatients.
  • Monitor patients undergoing interventional/contrast studies before, during, and after the procedure.
  • Work in a controlled area (exposure to radiation) and ensure that the use of any necessary radiation safety measures are in place for self, colleagues, and patients.
  • Ensure the patient and examination rooms are clean and free from bodily fluids following the examination and provide appropriate aftercare as required.
  • Work in-line with all trust policies and procedures.
  • Adhere to manual handling and health and safety policies to ensure all reasonable precautions are taken for managing own workplace and the safety of others.
  • Undertake any reasonable duty as requested by supervisor, line manager, and the Radiology Service Manager.
  • Demonstrate a high level of team working and autonomous practice, within specific guidelines, relevant to the different working areas.
  • Ensure the patient is aware how and where to obtain results and follow-up appointments.
  • Take control of stock and order consumables.
Person Specification

QUALIFICATIONS / TRAINING

  • NVQ level 3 or equivalent experience.
  • GCSE English and Mathematics grade 9-2 (A*-E) or equivalent.

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & EXPERTISE

  • Evidence that you have the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Evidence of computer literacy.

COMMUNICATION AND RELATIONSHIPS (INCLUDING MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES)

  • Ability to use own initiative and adapt to different situations.
  • Ability to work under pressure.
  • Good interpersonal skills both verbal and written.
  • Demonstrate good time management.
  • Ability to handle aggressive, distressing, or sensitive situations.
