Cavendish Nuclear is seeking a highly skilled Principal Physicist to join our team at the Sellafield Site in Cumbria. As a Principal Physicist, you will play a key role in providing technical leadership and expertise in radiometric characterisation and nuclear material assay.

The Role

As a Principal Physicist, you will be responsible for providing specialist characterisation advice and consultancy services during the design, operation, and decommissioning of nuclear facilities. You will work closely with customers, regulators, and internal stakeholders to develop and deliver characterisation strategies that meet the needs of our customers.

Key Responsibilities

• Direct, lead, and supervise the work of technical specialists to develop and deliver characterisation strategies to time, quality, and budget.
• Develop and maintain excellent working relations with customers, regulators, and internal stakeholders across Cavendish Nuclear.
• Maintain and promote knowledge of industry best practice.
• Ensure the application of the highest standards for health, safety, and environment, ethics, and behaviours.

Essential Experience

• Experience in the application of radiometric techniques.
• Technical-based leadership experience.
• Experience in mentoring and training.
• Nuclear experience.

Qualifications

• Science degree (or equivalent qualification) with significant demonstrable experience.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Clearance (SC) security clearance for this role.
