Job Description

The role of Financial Management Specialist involves overseeing the management of accounting tasks, cash flow, and pay runs. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping and be looking for more responsibility to move beyond day-to-day tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Process invoices, code, and project allocate
  • Create invoices, pass for soft approval, and send to customers
  • Send statements and chase overdue accounts
  • File VAT returns and check contents
  • Reconcile numerous bank accounts, including foreign currency and complex transactions
  • Process payroll, send payslips, and reconcile payments internally
  • Manage employee expense claims
  • Produce reports for regular company meetings
  • Regularly check ledgers and nominal accounts for errors/mispostings and ensure accuracy for management
  • Assist accountant with preparatory works for end of year filings.

The salary for this role is up to £37,000 per annum. The position is full-time permanent and office-based. Benefits include free onsite parking, ongoing training, and social activities.

Requirements

We are seeking a highly skilled individual with:

  • AAT Bookkeeping Level 2
  • AAT Level 2 or above (desirable)
  • Xero software experience (minimum 1 year) ideal
  • If not Xero, a modern, recent Accounting software package essential
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • 1 year operating PAYE for 15+ staff
  • Good understanding of foreign currency accounts, payments, and invoice processing
  • Experience with an accountancy practice (desirable)
