Southampton, Southampton, United Kingdom Southern Health NHS Foundation Trust Full time

Job Summary

The role of Clinical Operations Specialist is based within the Southampton Primary Care Network in GP surgeries. It focuses on delivering a primary care-based clinical operations approach that integrates primary care services and mental health support to improve health and wellbeing outcomes in a high utilising patient group. The clinical approach will meet on-the-day demand, offering triage, assessment, formulation, and maximising brief psychological intervention.

The successful applicant will become part of a growing primary care team delivering care to diverse populations in Southampton. A supportive work environment and development opportunities will be offered to support career progression, including advanced practice qualifications and training in psychologically informed interventions.

Main Duties of the Job

The team leader role is largely clinical, contributing to the triage service, offering early assessment, brief interventions, and signposting for people with mental health needs in their local communities. An active part will be played in developing systems and processes supporting care delivery within these teams. Good communication skills and the ability to build positive partnerships with key stakeholders in primary and secondary care are required.

About Us

Southern Health is one of the largest NHS Foundation Trusts in the UK, specialising in mental health and learning disabilities, as well as offering physical health community-based services. With a workforce of over 7000 and a footprint spanning more than 200 sites across Hampshire, we're committed to providing the best possible healthcare, reaching diverse communities, while placing patients and staff at the forefront of all our endeavours.

We're working closely with other NHS Trusts to combine all our collective community, mental health, and learning disability services, with the plan to create a new, larger, more integrated, and accessible organisation. The transformation will happen in stages, with Hampshire CAMHS joining Southern Health in February 2024, and Isle of Wight NHS Trust mental health and community services transitioning across in May 2024. The final combination of Southern Health and Solent NHS Trust services is expected in late 2024.
