Key Responsibilities:- Proactively manage and collect firm debts to ensure timely payment.
- Monitor client account balances and arrange transfers to settle invoices as advised by fee earners.
- Respond to client inquiries and provide administrative support to the team.
- Prepare statements, client reconciliations, and other relevant information as required.
- Regularly report to the Credit Control Manager on unpaid invoices.
- Match and code supplier invoices, process invoices and expenses, and reconcile supplier statements.
- Provide administrative support to the team, including filing and dealing with paperwork.
- Assist with land registry and Searchflow invoices, and check/write off balances on files ready for closure.
- Support the cashiering team during busy periods and assist with month-end procedures.
- Adhere to Solicitors' accounts rules and practices, and provide recommendations and advice as necessary.
Education:
- Good passes in Maths and English at GCSE level or equivalent (further education qualifications or accounting professional qualifications are advantageous).
Skills and Experiences:
- Enthusiastic and committed, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work flexibly to tight deadlines.
- Highly numerate with a basic understanding of bookkeeping and accountancy procedures.
- Good working knowledge of Excel.
- Strong team consciousness and ability to build/maintain working relationships.
- Calm under pressure and able to seek guidance/input from others when needed.
- Willing to contribute ideas and seek improvements.
