About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Social Worker to join our Assessment, Kinship and Support Team at North Somerset Council. This successful applicant will work closely with our team to provide high-quality support services to children, young people, and families.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of Kinship Foster Carers, including Viability Assessments and full assessments.
- Provide Special Guardianship Support to families.
- Supervise new Kinship Foster Carers prior to their transfer to the Fostering team.
- Assess prospective Foster Carers (Form F assessments).
Requirements
To be successful in this role, you must be a qualified Social Worker with a Social Work England registration. You should have a sound knowledge of relevant childcare legislation, including a clear understanding of Working Together to Safeguard Children. You must also have the ability to build effective relationships with children, young people, and families.
Essential Requirements
- Valid driving licence and own transport, or be able to provide alternative, suitable method of travel.
