Commercial Director

SAMS Enterprise is seeking a highly experienced Commercial Director to lead our commercial activities and drive business growth. The successful candidate will have extensive experience in delivering successful commercial activities for academic institutions or scientific research environments.

The role involves combining SAMS scientific research capability with the Enterprise team's business expertise in innovation transfer, project management, quality, and consultancy work. You will lead activity that helps provide industry clients with bespoke science-based solutions and robust products.

The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of commercialising scientific research for profit and will be able to lead a dynamic team to provide real-world solutions to marine environmental challenges.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Leading an established team of staff including technical product specialists and business support
2. Oversight of all commercial activity for this business area
3. Developing and implementing business strategies to drive growth and profitability

The estimated salary for this position is £66,447 per annum, based on a grade 9 salary range of £64,914 - £70,000 per annum (DoE). Benefits include 25 days holiday per year, increasing to 30 days after 4 years service, and a sabbatical scheme.
