About the Role
As a key member of the finance team at Willmott Dixon, we are seeking an experienced Assistant Accountant to join our team.
The role sits within the finance team responsible for servicing the Group's operating business units, and the successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining the financial ledgers, raising supplier payments and sales invoices, producing VAT and CIS returns, and assisting with the production of monthly management accounts.
The successful candidate will also be responsible for undertaking various reconciliations and incorporating various central function routine tasks and accounting for other small group subsidiaries, providing an excellent variety of experience.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities of this role include:
- Maintaining the financial ledgers
- Raising supplier payments and sales invoices
- Producing VAT and CIS returns
- Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts
- Undertaking various reconciliations
Our Team
The Group Finance Team is responsible for providing centralised finance support to the main board and to the individual LCOs, comprising 50 people across Accounting, Accounts Payable, Treasury, Payroll and Sub-Contractor Payments teams. The key responsibilities of the Finance Team are:
- Providing timely and accurate monthly Management Reporting
- Production of all statutory reporting including biannual Group accounts
- Tax and Compliance
- Goods Partner and supply chain payments management
- Treasury and accounts receivable
- Payroll
Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a strong academic record, AAT part-qualified or qualified by experience, and proven experience in using Microsoft Excel. Key desired qualities include being accurate, flexible, organised, efficient, a communicator, proactive, and a team player.
As this role sits within our finance team, the successful candidate will be asked to complete a DBS check as part of the onboarding process at Willmott Dixon.
