Job Description

As a Prototype Engineer at our client's established team, you will be responsible for producing prototypes of machined components, working collaboratively with different departments, and contributing to the development of jigs and fixtures.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Report to the Design Manager and produce prototypes of machined components.
  • Work with the engineering team to produce jigs and fixtures.
  • Collaborate with the design, development, engineering, and manufacturing teams to produce accurate prototypes for the different laboratories.
  • Implement tweaks to ensure the product can be designed efficiently where required.

Requirements:

  • Proven background in the production of prototypes.
  • Proven ability in precision component machining utilising turning and milling machines.
  • Previous experience in welding would be desirable.
  • Ability to interpret component and assembly technical drawings and produce prototypes within the required tolerances.
  • Good communication skills along with a working knowledge of basic Microsoft Office software, particularly Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work within tight timescales delivering prototypes to the laboratories within the agreed timeframe.
  • Experience in an Engineering or Manufacturing environment.
