Employment Advisor

Job Summary:

As an Employment Advisor - Self Employment Opportunity, you will play a pivotal role in supporting participants who have been out of work for at least 6 months or more, and who are interested in exploring Self Employment opportunities. You will work closely with participants to create a comprehensive action plan to identify appropriate actions to remove any barriers they may have to Self Employment.

Key Responsibilities:

* Manage a caseload of participants, ensuring they are supported and challenged appropriately to progress towards Self Employment.
* Partner with participants to create a comprehensive action plan to identify appropriate actions to remove any barriers they may have to Self Employment.
* Conduct assessments with all referred participants to assess job readiness and provide the appropriate level of support required to build confidence in gaining sustained employment.
* Identify participants who may benefit from signposting to a specialist organisation for specific Self Employment information, advice, and guidance, and make referrals as appropriate.

Requirements:

* Good working knowledge of Self Employment and the challenges that participants may face in this field.
* Building effective and positive relationships with participants to identify and overcome any potential barriers preventing them from becoming Self Employed or enhancing their existing Self Employment.
* Assess participants to determine if Self Employment is a suitable option for them.
* Strong IT skills, working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and web-based programs.
* Ability to manage multiple priorities to achieve targets and KPIs in a very busy environment.
* Knowledge of the labour market and stakeholders local to the area in which you will be applying for.
* Excellent communication, influencing, and listening skills.
