Position Overview

The Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated and skilled Bank Pharmacy Technician Band 5 to join our dynamic team. This role is essential in delivering high-quality pharmaceutical care to our patients.

Work Schedule

This position requires flexibility, with hours typically from 9 AM to 5 PM, including potential late shifts and weekends as per the rota.

Key Qualifications

Applicants must hold a valid Pharmacy Technician Registration (GPHC) and possess essential hospital experience.

Compensation

The salary for this role is competitive, with an all-inclusive hourly rate.

Core Responsibilities

The successful candidate will:

  • Utilize their hospital pharmacy experience to provide exceptional patient-centered medication optimization services.
  • Collaborate effectively with a multidisciplinary team to ensure timely and appropriate medication supply and patient counseling.
  • Engage in medicines management, including ward top-up dispensary and dispensing duties.

About Our Services

As part of our Medicines Optimisation Service, you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering a high-quality pharmaceutical service to patients across the Trust and associated facilities.
  • Facilitating timely discharge by ensuring the appropriate provision of medications.
  • Conducting audits and participating in project work to enhance service delivery.

Patient Discharge Services

Your role will include:

  • Providing a patient-focused discharge service, ensuring all medications are suitable for supply.
  • Supporting the dispensary in the efficient dispensing of discharge medications.
  • Counseling patients regarding their medications as necessary.

General Responsibilities

In addition to the above, you will:

  • Participate in the education and training of healthcare professionals.
  • Engage in departmental meetings to foster effective communication.
  • Comply with relevant legislation and uphold the security of medications at all times.
