Job Description

About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team at the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust. As a Pharmacy Technician - Medicines Management, you will play a crucial role in providing a high-quality patient-focused medicines optimisation service to patients of the Trust, associated hospitals, and community clinics.

Main Responsibilities

  • Provide a high-quality patient-focused medicines optimisation service to patients of the Trust, associated hospitals, and community clinics.
  • Facilitate the provision of medicines to patients to assist in their timely discharge.
  • Participate in medicines management, ward top-up dispensary, and ward-based dispensing.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to deliver patient-focused care to patients and ensure a timely supply of medicines, utilisation of patients' own medicines, and counselling on medication.
  • Participate in education and training of other healthcare professionals.
  • Participate in education and training schemes and meetings organised within the department.

Requirements

  • BTEC or NVQ level 3 or equivalent in Pharmaceutical Sciences.
  • Accredited Checking Technician.
  • Previous hospital experience as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Good organisational skills.
  • Ability to prioritise work.
  • Ability to assess and deal with situations.

Working Arrangements

This is a bank pharmacy technician role, working on a flexible and variable shift pattern, including late shifts and weekends as per rota.
