Secure Care Community Occupational Therapist

The Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team. This permanent, full-time position offers a rewarding opportunity to work with diverse clients in a secure care setting.

This role involves providing occupational therapy services to individuals preparing for transition from secure care to the community. You will be responsible for assessing client needs, developing treatment plans, and delivering interventions to promote recovery and independence.

We are looking for an individual with postgraduate training in relevant subjects, such as models of practice or sensory integration. Your experience in using assessments and approaches to formulate client need for treatment will be essential. Additionally, you should have knowledge of recovery approaches and principles, as well as understanding of the role of secure care and barriers to community transition.

Key responsibilities include working collaboratively with other agencies, managing complex behaviors, and promoting the role of the service within your duties. You will also be required to demonstrate awareness of and management of well-being of self and others.
