We are seeking an experienced NDT Inspector / Senior NDT Inspector to join our team as a Contractor within our Pipeline Group. The successful candidate will be based at our facility in Old Kilpatrick, Glasgow, and will be responsible for carrying out inspections in the Global Weld Development Centre (GWDC) and coordinating inspection activities as required.
Key Responsibilities:- Implement and coordinate NDT inspections to ensure compliance with industry standards and company procedures.
- Carry out inspections on the shop floor as required, utilizing Automated Ultrasonic Testing (AUT) equipment and other NDT tools.
- Coordinate day-to-day requirements for inspection, including working with GWDC staff and subcontractors to ensure timely completion of examinations.
- Interface with NDT subcontractors to ensure that all examinations are completed in a timely manner and to the required standard.
- Review and approve reports by NDT subcontractors, ensuring that they meet company and industry standards.
- Supervise NDT inspections carried out by Level 1 and 2 NDT Inspectors as required, providing guidance and support to ensure successful completion of inspections.
- Assist in the AUT Validation process for project work, ensuring that all equipment and procedures meet company and industry standards.
- Review and validate subcontractor procedures for approval by Company Level 3 as required, ensuring that they meet company and industry standards.
- Support NDT developments and assist with practical aspects of procedure development for new techniques, ensuring that they are implemented safely and effectively.
- Experience in Pipeline Girthweld inspection using AUT is preferred.
- Strong understanding of NDT principles and practices, including AUT and other NDT techniques.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, subcontractors, and clients.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on delivering high-quality results.
- Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends, as required.
