Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Finance Business Partner to join our team at the Health Research Authority. As a key member of our finance team, you will play a critical role in our financial planning and decision-making processes.

Main Duties of the Job

As a Finance Business Partner, you will be responsible for:

  • Preparing, analyzing, and reporting on monthly management accounts
  • Developing and monitoring budgets, forecasts, and financial models
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to support strategic decision-making
  • Identifying cost-saving opportunities and driving efficiency improvements
  • Supporting year-end financial processes and liaising with auditors
  • Continuously improving financial systems, processes, and controls

Person Specification

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • CCAB or CIMA finalist or passed finalist or qualified by extensive experience in all aspects of management and financial accountancy
  • Prior experience of NHS Finance principles and procedures
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office products and finance ledger systems
  • Experience of business planning and investment appraisal
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to plan tasks and demonstrate flexibility as required
  • Ability to work autonomously and as part of a multi-disciplinary team
  • High level numeracy skills and ability to understand, interpret, and explain highly complex financial information across the organization
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to influence and negotiate complex situations
  • Commitment to inclusivity and valuing diversity
