About the Role
Aston Martin Lagonda Ltd is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Buyer to join our team on a permanent basis at our Gaydon site.
Key Responsibilities
- Sourcing products for next-generation projects at the best cost while maintaining quality and technical requirements.
- Developing and maintaining commodity strategies for specific ranges of commodities, including Electrical, Powertrain, Chassis, Body, and Body and White in Direct Procurement, and a wide range of desks in Indirect Procurement.
- Developing and maintaining supplier relationships, including supplier evaluation and supplier risk management, and developing robust risk mitigation strategies where necessary.
- Assessing cost data and quotation analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Partnering with Engineering, Production, and other Aston Martin support functions to maintain vehicle production on time, at the right quality, technical specifications, and forecasted cost.
- Managing a team of buyers, leading and mentoring them.
Requirements
- Relevant purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the automotive industry.
- Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence and persuade other teams and functions to meet deliverables and objectives.
- High proficiency in Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- A degree education is desirable, but not essential.
