We're seeking an experienced professional to join our Ethics team as an Audit Quality Senior Manager. This is a permanent, full-time position that offers a competitive salary and opportunities for career growth.

In this role, you will work closely with project teams, IT, and senior stakeholders to ensure the implementation of systems that meet the firm's requirements for audit independence and conflicts of interest. Your primary responsibility will be to perform testing of these systems to guarantee they are fit for purpose.

You will also be responsible for working with BDO Global project teams to influence the development of systems, ensuring the UK firm's view is taken into account. Additionally, you will set up and manage quality control processes to ensure the implementation and business-as-usual processes meet all requirements of ISQM1.

A key aspect of this role is advising users in the business on the new systems and how they need to interact with them to ensure the firm meets its obligations to audit independence and conflicts of interest. You will also define and manage tasks and actions involving the Ethics team, ensuring they are completed in line with project deadlines.

Your Responsibilities:
  1. Understand requirements for audit independence and conflicts of interest and collaborate with project teams, IT, and senior stakeholders.
  2. Perform thorough testing of systems to ensure they meet the firm's needs.
  3. Work with BDO Global project teams to develop systems that align with the UK firm's perspective.
  4. Establish and manage quality control processes to comply with ISQM1.
  5. Provide guidance to business users on new systems and their interactions.
  6. Define and manage tasks and actions within the Ethics team.

To succeed in this role, you'll need relevant experience applying ethical standards or similar regulatory frameworks. Awareness of the ICAEW Code of Ethics and Financial Reporting Council's Ethical Standard for auditors would be beneficial but is not compulsory. You should have an understanding of complex risk management and conflicts of interest systems, risk management principles, and how to apply them in practice. A proven track record of project managing firm-wide systems and projects is essential.
