Mold, Flintshire, United Kingdom Flintshire County Council Full time

**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Multisystemic Therapy (MST) Child Abuse and Neglect (CAN) practitioner to join our team in North-East Wales. As an MST-CAN Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering comprehensive interventions to families affected by child abuse and neglect.

The successful candidate will have a deep understanding of the complexities involved in working with families at risk and be able to apply their expertise to develop and implement effective treatment plans. With a strong focus on intensive work with families, you will be required to engage with complex cases where there is a child or young person aged 6 – 17 living at home who are subject to a Child Protection Plan due to child abuse and neglect and who is at risk of entering care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • To deliver comprehensive MST-CAN interventions to families at risk of child abuse and neglect.
  • To assess and identify the specific problems and risk factors that brought the family to the attention of Children's Services.
  • To develop and implement effective treatment plans to address these issues.
  • To engage with families in their natural ecology (their home, school and wider community) rather than in a clinical setting.
  • To be available 24/7 to all families in treatment through an on-call rota.

Requirements:

  • A degree in a relevant field such as psychology, social work, or a related discipline.
  • Proven experience in working with families affected by child abuse and neglect.
  • Strong understanding of the principles and practices of MST-CAN therapy.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Benefits:

  • A minimum salary of £37,938.00 per annum, rising to £40,476.00 per annum depending on experience.
  • Access to a range of development opportunities.
  • Generous family friendly and work-life balance schemes.
  • Hybrid working arrangements.
  • Free employee assistance programme (EAP).
  • Cycle to Work Scheme.
  • Discounts across UK retailers.
