Position Overview

The Fund Accountant Associate will play a key role in supporting the Fund Controller team in the preparation of accurate and timely financial information for the self-administered opportunistic funds across European Principal Finance. This is a varied role that requires enthusiasm, a strong work ethic, and a willingness to take on new challenges.

This role involves working closely with various departments within Apollo, including investment and portfolio management, valuation and pricing, legal, tax, and marketing, to ensure the preparation of accurate and timely information. The Fund Accountant Associate will be responsible for maintaining and reviewing full accounting records on Apollo's systems, including supporting the deal closing and realization activity to record deal activity.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Monthly and quarterly reporting (working with the extended Finance team in Nesco, Mumbai, India)
  • Maintenance and review of full accounting records on Apollo's systems, including supporting the deal closing and realization activity to record deal activity
  • Prepare and review payment files
  • Manage interaction with Subscription Line lenders and maintain loan records
  • Review, allocation, and approval of invoices and expenses
  • Responding to Investor queries
  • Maintenance of information in the investor and fund performance portal
  • Calculation of management fees
  • Fund budgeting and expense analysis
  • Liaison with external auditors with regard to statutory fund audits
  • Working with Apollo colleagues across New York, India, Luxembourg, and London
  • Ad Hoc Projects

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant fund accounting experience
  • Qualified or part-qualified Accountant
  • Exhibit strong interpersonal, verbal, and written skills
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Highly skilled with Excel
  • Individual must be diligent and work well in a team environment
  • Strong organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work under pressure and adhere to deadlines
  • Demonstrate ability to take initiative
  • A forward-thinking, creative individual with high ethical standards
