Job Description:

We are currently recruiting for dedicated Modification Technicians to join our train facility in North London. This exciting role involves undertaking corrective and preventative maintenance, servicing, and repair of rolling stock assets.

In this position, you will be responsible for performing scheduled modifications/maintenance activities on the rolling stock in accordance with vehicle modification and maintenance instructions.

  • Undertake servicing and preparation of the rolling stock.
  • Drive vehicles within depot confines in accordance with depot operating procedures and instructions.
  • Participate in ongoing continuous improvement activities for Modification/Maintenance processes and maintenance procedures that support all depot and fleet activities.
  • Support the delivery of new trains and undertake Modification/maintenance acceptance processes.
  • Ensure exam tasks are completed in a timely manner and undertake basic fault rectification or repair when required.
  • Adhere to all health and safety processes and procedures.
  • Undertake preventative and corrective maintenance as required.
  • Support Mods/Maintenance Team Leaders and Shift Production Managers in the delivery of the production plan.
  • Record all work activities and stock consumption using the maintenance management system in accordance with maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Work shifts to meet service requirements.
  • Assist as required with any other responsibilities relevant to the role.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will require experience of working in a rolling stock maintenance depot environment. You must have outstanding Safety Awareness gained in an operational railway engineering environment. Fault finding and repair techniques are essential, as well as reading electrical, pneumatic, mechanical schematics and drawings.

Qualifications:

  • Served apprenticeship with mechanical, electrical disciplines.
  • Engineering-based NVQ level 3.
