Railway Depot Maintenance Position

We are looking for skilled Modification Technicians to join our team at our train facility in North London.

In this challenging role, you will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of rolling stock assets within a fast-paced depot environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out scheduled Modification/maintenance activities on the rolling stock in accordance with vehicle modification and maintenance instructions.
  • Undertaking routine checks and inspections of the rolling stock to ensure optimal performance.
  • Driving duties within depot confines in accordance with depot operating procedures and instructions.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient Modification/Maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Supporting the delivery of new trains and undertaking the Modification/maintenance acceptance processes.
  • Completing exam tasks in a timely manner and undertaking basic fault rectification or repair when required.
  • Maintaining adherence to health and safety processes and procedures.
  • Undertaking routine maintenance tasks as required.
  • Providing support to the Mods/Maintenance Team Leaders and Shift Production Managers in the delivery of the production plan.
  • Recording work activities and stock consumption using the maintenance management system in accordance with maintenance processes and procedures.
  • Flexibility to work shifts to meet service requirements.

About You:

Essential Requirements:
  • Previous experience of working in a rolling stock maintenance depot environment.
  • Exceptional Safety Awareness skills gained in an operational railway engineering environment.
  • Ability to perform fault finding and repair techniques.
  • Proficiency in reading electrical, pneumatic, mechanical schematics and drawings.
Qualifications:
  • Aptitude for completing a served apprenticeship with mechanical, electrical disciplines.
  • Attainment of Engineering based NVQ level 3.

The estimated salary for this role is £42,000 per annum. With experience, you can expect a salary range between £35,000 - £45,000 per annum.
