Key Responsibilities- Assist the Reception teacher in planning and delivering engaging activities that align with the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
- Support children through play-based learning to develop key skills in areas such as literacy, numeracy, and social interaction.
- Offer one-on-one and small group support to pupils, ensuring each child's individual needs are met and fostering their early development.
- Help create and maintain a welcoming, safe, and stimulating classroom environment that encourages exploration and learning.
- Promote positive behaviour and support the social and emotional well-being of the children by fostering an inclusive and caring classroom atmosphere.
- Assist in the observation and assessment of pupils' progress, providing feedback to the teacher to aid in planning and development.
- Support children with additional needs to ensure they receive the guidance and encouragement necessary to reach their full potential.
- Supervise children during playtimes, lunchtimes, and other school activities, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Previous experience working with young children, ideally within a Reception or Early Years (EYFS) setting.
- A patient, caring, and enthusiastic approach to supporting young learners.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, staff, and parents.
- A relevant Teaching Assistant or Early Years qualification (e.g., NVQ Level 2/3) is desirable but not essential.
- A strong understanding of the EYFS curriculum and early childhood development.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all pupils, in line with the school's policies.
