The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved right from the start of such a historic project. As a Strategic Project Planning Director, you will play a key role in delivering one of the most ambitious and largest megaprojects in the UK, whilst being at the forefront of the UK's climate change agenda and energy policy.

The project will be a 3.2-gigawatt power station generating low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, playing a key role in our energy future, supplying reliable, clean electricity for at least 60 years.

You will champion a diverse and inclusive working environment and understand the importance of the wellbeing of the people you manage.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Manage the delivery of key assignments and defined business areas, providing strategic direction and monitoring delivery aligned with overall vision and objectives.
  2. Support the long-term success of planning performance for specified engines/sectors/hubs, and the overall contribution to the broader company goals.
  3. Support the planning function in ensuring projects and tenders are effectively planned, scheduled, and monitored.
  4. Support project managers in the delivery of projects by providing high-level planning services for the preparation of project plans, producing baseline scheduled tasks, resource profiles and financial models.
  5. Leverage specific planning/scheduling methods, techniques, and tools to drive project delivery.
  6. Communicate effectively with the client, project team, and stakeholders.
  7. Influence complex requirements and communicate analysis and corrective measures effectively.
  8. Influence clients to accept proposals and recommendations.
  9. Undertake tasks required to fulfill the requirements of the project/assignment.
  10. Work collaboratively towards the common goal of net-zero carbon transition, and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

Requirements:

  1. Membership of APM, RICS, CIOB, ICE, AACE, IRM, IEMA or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  2. Experience in the successful planning of projects and programmes.
  3. Deep property or infrastructure project management expertise.
  4. Strong commercial and financial acumen.
  5. Leadership and management experience of large, diverse teams.
  6. Experience of managing relationships with key senior stakeholders.
  7. Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.

Mace is an inclusive employer and welcomes interest from a diverse range of candidates. Even if you feel you do not fulfill all of the criteria, please apply as you may still be the best candidate for this role or another role within our organisation.

We are also open to discussing part-time, flexible, and hybrid working options if suitable within the role. £80,000 - £100,000 per annum plus benefits.
