Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Specialist to join our team at Barclays. As a Senior Privacy Manager, you will play a crucial role in developing and implementing data privacy policies, procedures, and monitoring adherence to these policies across the organization.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and assess potential risks related to data privacy and implement measures to mitigate these risks and enhance overall data protection.
  • Develop and implement an effective incident response plan for data breaches and coordinate with relevant teams to investigate and address incidents promptly.
  • Provide data privacy training and awareness to employees by educating them about their data privacy obligations, how to manage personal data securely, and how to identify and report data privacy breaches.
  • Identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to the data privacy program.
  • Develop and implement a Barclays Data Privacy strategy aligned with the bank's business objectives and regulatory requirements.
  • Define and enforce data privacy policies and procedures to ensure data protection, security, and compliance.
  • Partner with stakeholders to drive improvements in the understanding, appropriate use, and protection of personal data.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive data privacy governance framework aligned with regulatory requirements and industry standards.
Assistant Vice President Expectations
  • Advise and influence decision-making, contribute to policy development, and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Set objectives, coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraise performance relative to objectives, and determine reward outcomes.
  • Lead collaborative assignments and guide team members through structured assignments, identifying the need for inclusion of other areas of specialization to complete assignments.
  • Identify ways to mitigate risk and develop new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
  • Take ownership of managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to work done.
  • Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practices (in other areas, teams, companies, etc.).

The estimated salary for this position is £80,000 - £120,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications.
